I decided to do product reviews as part of my blog as I have been getting a lot of questions regarding my opinion on fashion items, especially accessories and handbags. To me, jewelry and bags are an investment and I rarely get rid of stuff unless I have really really fallen out of love with them. I don’t tend to impulse buy jewelry or handbags as I like to buy quality and timeless items that will last a long time. Styles and trends repeat themselves and sometimes you just don’t feel a particular bag and a few months down the road it suddenly becomes your go-to again. Hopefully, the reviews will help you get a better idea of a particular bag or fashion accessory before you make a purchase because there is nothing worse than buyer’s remorse on an expensive item.
My first review is on this unique Jord Watch. Jord specializes in wood watches that are stylish and easy to wear. I chose this dark Sandalwood with bigger face because I like men’s wardrobe inspired looks and the dark color just goes with everything.
Although I grew up in Germany – and Germans are known to be sticklers for efficiency and punctuality – I tended to run (*ahem* still do) a few minutes late. I guess that’s the Asian in me where the attitude is just more laissez faire – what’s a few minutes, right? Well, a few minutes or seconds is everything when you take public transport in Europe. Let’s just say I had to run after the bus quite often.
Nowadays, most of us rely on our cell phones to tell the time. I have to admit though, after wearing this watch out the last few days, I have to say it is pretty nice not having to rummage through my big carry-all for my phone just to find out the time.
What I absolutely love about the watch being made of wood is how light it is. It weighs less than my smaller sized Tag Heuer and feels smooth wearing it. The unique look is definitely eye-catching and a conversation starter.
The warm look of the wood complements warm metals like gold and brass very well.
The watch goes well with my favorite fall accessories.
One concern I could see with a wood vs a steel watch is durability. I have not had long enough to see any scratches or nicks but it feels pretty sturdy. I will definitely post an update if there will be any damage from use over time. All in all it’s a very well made and chic accessory that adds a unique touch to my outfits. There are various styles and sizes to choose from so I added a direct link to Jord Watch’s site and a direct link to my watch, as well.
